It simply relies on reducing or minimizing the length of links in order to make them easy to transfer and remember, or to include or hide the original link in several articles. It first appeared in 2002 with the TinyURL site, and at that time more than 100 similar sites appeared that provided the same service, most of which were easy to remember their names.
